Preparation Guide
Preparation Guide
This guide has been created to help you understand our process, how to prepare for your project, and what to expect throughout your transformation.
Our aim is to deliver a refined, factory-quality finish with as little disruption to your home as possible.
Your Transformation
Professional spray refinishing is a premium alternative to replacement, allowing kitchens, fitted cabinetry, furniture, doors and interior surfaces to be transformed without the cost, disruption or waste of a full renovation.
Every project includes:
-
A bespoke finish tailored to your home
-
Minimal disruption compared to replacement
-
A more sustainable approach with significantly less waste
-
A durable, professionally applied finish backed by our 2-year workmanship guarantee
Home Colour Consultation
Choosing a colour for your home is an important decision, which is why we don't ask you to choose during your quotation.
Once your project has been booked, you'll receive your personalised Home Colour Consultation Pack, containing our colour brochure and your chosen colour samples.
Together, they have been designed to help you experience colours naturally within your own home, allowing you to view them alongside your flooring, worktops, furnishings and existing décor under changing daylight and artificial lighting.
We recommend taking a few days to move your samples around your home and experience them at different times of day before making your final decision.
Final colour confirmation is required at least 7 working days before your scheduled start date.
What To Expect During Your Project
Preparation & Spray Refinishing
Every surface is carefully prepared, repaired where necessary, masked and professionally spray refinished using premium coatings and specialist spray equipment to achieve a smooth, factory-quality finish.
Dust & Noise
Preparation work naturally creates some dust and noise despite our careful protection measures.
A thorough clean is carried out before we leave, although a small amount of light settling dust may remain temporarily.
Access Around Your Home
Depending on the surfaces being refinished, certain areas of your home may have restricted access while work is underway.
Appliances, cabinetry and surrounding areas may also be temporarily protected to ensure the highest quality finish.
Appliances & Surrounding Surfaces
We spray as far as is safely accessible around appliances and fixed features.
Where full access is required, we may ask for appliances or surrounding items to be removed before work begins.
Although we use specialist low-tack masking materials, previously painted walls, delicate finishes or wallpaper can occasionally be sensitive during mask removal. Where matching wall paint has been provided, we'll happily touch up any small areas affected during the masking process.
Preparing For Our Arrival
Preparation requirements vary depending on the size and scope of your project.
Before we arrive, we may ask you to:
-
Clear surrounding work areas
-
Remove delicate or valuable items
-
Empty cupboards or shelving where required
-
Ensure clear access to the areas being refinished
Full preparation guidance will always be provided before your project begins.
Optional Enhancements
Many upgrades can be added up to 7 days before your project.
These include:
-
New handles or knobs
-
Soft-close hinge upgrades
-
Push-to-open mechanisms
-
Wall and tile refinishing
Completion & Aftercare
Once your project has been completed, we'll inspect everything with you to ensure you're completely happy with the finished result.
Your newly refinished surfaces can typically be carefully used after 24–48 hours, however the finish will continue curing over approximately 2 weeks, allowing it to reach its full durability.
During this period we recommend:
-
Avoiding unnecessary heavy use where possible
-
Cleaning only with gentle, non-abrasive products
-
Avoiding harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning pads
